Mechanical Assembler

Comact is a North American leader in the design and manufacturing of equipment for wood processing mills. Producing everything from mechanical equipment, PLCs and optimization systems equipped with digital vision scanners. Our products also deliver fully automated production lines. The company has over 1800 employees working in our divisions located across North America.

Responsibilities

· Assemble fabricated parts per blueprints, examples, or oral instruction

· Reads and interprets blueprints and mechanical drawings as needed. Test and calibrate mechanisms

· Use hand tools, power tools, welders, etc. to achieve finished product

· Assemble motors, gear boxes, and drives per manufactures specs

· Package products for shipping

· Load trucks for shipping using forklifts and overhead cranes.

· Some welding

Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Strong mechanical aptitude

· Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus

· Basic knowledge of industrial electrical and pneumatics

· Some welding experience

· Must be a self-starter and be able to work alone or with a team

· Must be willing to work overtime

· Willing to submit to a pre-employment and random drug screening

· Able to supply own hand tools

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Experience:

• Assembly: 2 years (Preferred)
• Blueprint reading: 2 years (Preferred)
