What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter Helper position at Bid Group of Companies?
The Industrial Painters Helper is responsible for preparing parts, maintaining equipment and prepping steel industrial machines and parts in a fabrication shop setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Helping painters with tasks like sanding, wire brushing, cleaning with solvents, and masking items for painting.
- Preparing parts for painting.
- Ensure the correct hanging of fixtures in preparation for the painting process.
- Ensure quality at the source of the standard operating procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean 5S environment.
- Post paint cleaning, unmasking, and palletizing.
- Comply with all company safety and environmental directives, including the use of a respirator.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- At least 1 year of experience in an industrial setting.
- Painting experience a plus.
- Understanding of paint codes
- Able to read and understand mixing of paints (various chemicals)
- Able to keep painting areas clean along with equipment
- Related education and experience may also be considered in lieu of other requirements.
- Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
