Brief Job Duties: The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: Prepares student Individualized Education Plans: In consultation with parents and IEP team members, drafts, develops , and implements IEP’s and transition plans with measurable goals. Completes all special education paperwork accurately, according to regulations, and submits them on time. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. . Full Job Description   Certification/License: 1. Eligible for appropriate Maine Department of Education certification. (282/286) 2. Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education  Education:  1. Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment. Masters Degree in related area preferred.   Experience:    Experience with TEACH and Case Management at the Intermediate School level.  Live and Work in the Biddeford, Maine Community  Located along the Atlantic coastline with miles of beaches  Views of the Saco River to its west  Less than 20 minutes south of the Greater Portland Area Less than two hours north of Boston.  Home to a growing population of diverse residents  Picturesque downtown  Maine's youngest city with a median age of 29 in the historic downtown Thriving economy  Many recreational opportunities, including fishing, hiking, biking, public parks, and kayaking   Equal Opportunity The School Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
