What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrumentation Technician position at Bidell Gas Compression Ltd.?
The instrumentation technician will be responsible for reading blueprints / selecting / bending / running / mounting pneumatic tubing and supporting the Electrical and Instrumentation department in the production of Gas compression units. The following is a list of responsibilities while ensuring all safety procedures, standards and best practices are strictly maintained:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following):
- Run and mount tubing according to blueprints.
- Run multiple types of equipment such as saws, grinders and all hand tools.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures, including the safe operation of equipment and help to maintain a safe, clean work environment.
- Participates in tool box meetings.
- Adheres and promotes compliance with all Company PPE requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES (required skills and abilities):
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- One year pneumatic tube bending experience (Required).
- One year of industrial manufacturing experience is (Required).
- Ability to use hand tools and applicable shop machines correctly and safely.
- Ability to run multiple types of equipment such as saws, bevellers and torches.
- Ability to take/read measurements.
- Must use provided PPE to perform job in accordance with safety standards
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to work as a team member and help your coworkers as needed
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances and in small areas with many moving pieces/parts.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a manufacturing environment. The employee is exposed to hot, cold and outside weather conditions. The employee is working with moving mechanical parts, fumes and caustic chemicals are present. The noise level in the environment includes exposure to loud noise levels.
