Bidell is currently looking for 2* Gas Compression Field Technicians* based out of our Gillette WY Parts and Service Branch. Competitive pay and benefits based on experience. Willing to train the right individuals. These positions will require travel.
The Field Service Mechanic will possess a strong working knowledge of natural gas engines, compressors, and controls systems. Candidates should have a strong operational and mechanical background in the oil and gas industry. The Field Mechanic will have extensive working knowledge of gas compressor packages with the ability to perform mechanical, diagnostic and analytical processes in a customer service-based environment with minimal supervision.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge on all Caterpillar and Waukesha engines as well as Ariel compressors. The Field Service Mechanic will provide commissioning, mechanical, diagnostic and analytical skills to perform preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression equipment on site at client locations. This is a full-time position and requires overnight travel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining and managing the day-to-day operation of a field service truck.
- Providing field service support to customers, which includes diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing natural gas engines and compressors
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Following Bidell and customer health, safety and environment policies and procedures
- Develop relationships with new and existing customers
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician or Millwright Equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of natural gas engines and compressors.
- Experience with Waukesha & Caterpillar engines and Ariel, Mycom, Frick & Sullair compressors preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Motivated and well organized.
- Possess strong customer service and communication skills.
- Be available to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Have a clean driving record.
- Able to work overtime and travel overnight.
- Be able to pass a medical drug test and complete background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances and in small areas with many moving pieces/parts.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a manufacturing environment. The employee is exposed to hot, cold, and outside weather conditions. Employees are working with moving mechanical parts, fumes and caustic chemicals are present. The noise level in the environment includes exposure to loud noise levels.
