What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Clinical Manager position at Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists?
Essential Job Duties:
- Participates in the supervision and evaluation of clinical and assigned staff and serves as floor manager during clinics.
- Collaborates with Director of Operations on development and implementation of nursing department’s mission, goals, policies, procedures, budget, quality assurance plan, and work standards.
- Schedules clinical staff (nurses, medical assistants and x-ray techs) to meet changing workload needs.
- Provides professional and technical support to staff, and troubleshoots the delivery of patient care.
- Identifies needs, provides training for staff, and facilitates staff development.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of training, orientation and education programs.
- Coordinate with the Manager of Clinical Informatics and EHS for maintaining accountability on medications and logs, maintaining all clinical equipment, medical waste, first-aid and spill kits, PMP access, and x-ray dosimeter service.
- Develops expertise and super-user skills in EHR software and provides training and support.
- Works in tandem with Director Operations and the Manager of Clinical Informatics and EHS to implement EHR template development and improvement.
- Ensures proper implementation of all nursing and clinical forms. Example: Informed Consent Forms.
- Oversees Order Tracking and other work lists in EHR.
- Assists DOO (Compliance Officer) and develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with standards, laws, regulations, and procedures; HIPAA and OSHA
- Oversees clinical staff in ensuring compliance with established regulations and standards including quality assurance, confidentiality, and medical record documentation.
- Oversees clinical staff in reviewing and ensuring proper procedures with Orders Tracking.
- Serves as an educator, consultant, practitioner, and researcher to address a range of topics for clinical staff.
Education:
- Experience in the OR is crucial.
- Bachelor's degree required; a Bachelor’s in healthcare administration or health care operations preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in management required; 3-5 years in clinical operations preferred orthopedic experience is highly preferred; experience in discharge planning and outpatient care coordination preferred
