What are the responsibilities and job description for the BSC RADIOLOGY TECH position at Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists?
Essential Job Duties:
• Perform a variety of radiographic imaging procedures, including fluoroscopy, intraoperative C-arm imaging, X-rays, and other diagnostic studies as required; must be proficient with C-Arm machine.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and effectively while adhering to radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles.
• Support surgical teams with real-time imaging during procedures, ensuring optimal positioning and image quality.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Verify patient identification and imaging orders; maintain accurate records and documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and PACS.
• Perform equipment checks, calibrations, and routine maintenance, report malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
• Maintain inventory of radiology supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations, OSHA standards, and ASC policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient care.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain required certifications and licenses.
Education Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited school for x-ray technicians with a current licensure in Mississippi
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred
Other Requirements:
• Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and communication skills
• Must be able to stand for 6-8 hours a day; includes walking, stooping and bending
• Must be able to move equipment and transfer patients
• Proficiency of electronic records systems preferred. Must have strong data entry skills
• Must be able to complete tasks with a high-degree of efficiency and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions
• Must demonstrate ability to analyze data and resolve complex problems
• Must have the ability to work independently while managing time and workload appropriately
• Must be able to travel to various locations and work overtime hours as needed
