Position Summary:
Responsible for working with students ages 3-5 who are enrolled in the Early Childhood Special Education Program.
Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. 60 college-level credits, preferably an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Requires 0 to 2 years of job-related prior experience.
- Experience working with children ages 3-5 preferred, but not required.
Essential Job Functions include the following:
- Under the direction of the Classroom Teacher, assist with planning development and implantation of instructional, behavioral, and therapeutic activities.
- Assists teachers with meeting IEP goals and with other planning, as needed and directed.
- Constantly monitors and supervises children.
- Updates and maintains records.
- Assists students with personal hygiene, toileting, diapering, clothing, etc.
- Monitors and/or assists students with adaptive devices.
- Assists students with developmentally appropriate skills.
- Maintain a physical classroom environment that is conductive to the learning process.
- Assists students with arrival and departure routines.
- Ensures safety and security of students.
- Performs clerical duties including copying and lesson prep work.
- Attends meetings when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED, 2024-2025 Classified Salary Schedule
