What are the responsibilities and job description for the COOK position at Biergarten?
Biergarten on 424 Octavia st is looking for experienced, proactive, talented cooks to join our team! Knowledge of German Cuisine is appreciated, but not required.
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Prep, cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes
- Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range
- Set up and clean station according to restaurant protocol, appropriately stocking inventory
- Maintain a clean work station area, including kitchen equipment, surfaces, and shelves
- Comply with applicable sanitary, health, personal hygiene and safety standards both regulated by the state as well as expected from the restaurant
- Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the lead line cook, sous-chef, or CDC
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and managers
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Essential functions of position
