Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in the finance department. This role involves a range of accounting duties, including preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting monthly reconciliations, and supporting budget preparation. The Staff Accountant ensures the company's financial operations run efficiently and comply with all regulatory standards. This role demands a meticulous and proactive individual who will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting tasks. Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily financial reports and enter daily bank transactions into the general ledger.
- Prepare the trial balance and financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and review accounts to resolve any issues.
- Manage accounts payable and process monthly expense reports.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the CFO as requested.
- Assist in maintaining an orderly accounting filing system, focusing on reconciliations and journal entries.
- Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying updated, filing reports, and advising management on necessary actions.
- Maintain prepaids, rents, and depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets.
- Process incoming mail
- Process Payroll.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficient with accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Basic & Physical Requirements:
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication though computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
- Must be able to maintain prolonged periods of working on a computer while sitting at a desk and attending virtual meetings
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
