Big Bend Hospice, a mission-driven non-profit dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care, is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead our financial operations and support our strategic goals. This pivotal role ensures fiscal responsibility, resource optimization, and organizational success while upholding our commitment to patients, families, and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all financial functions, including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and patient accounting, ensuring compliance and efficiency across the revenue cycle.
- Partner with senior leadership to drive revenue growth, cost containment, and strong internal controls while negotiating contracts and analyzing economic trends.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering financial competency across the organization.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the Big Bend Hospice Board of Directors and the Big Bend Hospice Foundation Board of Trustees, oversee annual audits and tax returns, and ensure adherence to state, federal, and hospice regulations.
- Design systems for effective data collection and reporting to support leadership decision-making.
- Foster and maintain relationships with bankers and vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance (Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred).
- 5 years of management experience, ideally in healthcare or non-profit settings, with a proven track record of financial oversight and audit coordination.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and supervisory skills, with proficiency in accounting systems (preferably Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, board members, and the community.
- Deep understanding of healthcare regulatory environments and a passion for Big Bend Hospice’s mission of integrity and service.

Salary Range: $105,000 to $160,000 annually depending on experience
