Big Bend Hospice seeks an experienced full-time remote Medical Billing Specialist. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of medical billing, Medicaid, collections, and reimbursement of claims and be highly proficient with all aspects of verifying eligibility and benefits, medical billing, working patient accounts, statements, authorizations, and posting cash and adjustments. Must be a strong communicator and work collaboratively with internal and external customers to ensure payments are received and submitted on time.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, flexible between the hours of 7am - 6pm (8-hour shift)
Location: Tallahassee area, preferred. Possible hybrid work option.

Your Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Access and review Admissions Reports on a daily basis
- Verify patient Medicaid coverage
- Post payments from multiple insurance carriers
- Act as the liaison between the organization and SNF facilities to ensure invoices are received and payments are submitted on-time
- Proactively follow up on Accounts Receivable
- Correct and identify billing errors and resubmit claims to insurance carriers
- Communicate extensively with the organization and outside vendors, such as the Revenue Cycle company SAVISTA for Medicaid applications
- Complete other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 2 - 3 years of billing experience preferably in a Hospice setting
- Medical office experience preferred

Salary : $20 - $22
