Big Brothers Big Sisters of Licking & Perry Counties is seeking a Program Coordinator to join their team in Licking County, focusing on the Lunch Buddies Program at local elementary and middle schools. This position is ideal for someone who lives in or has strong ties to the area, and it involves 32-36 hours per week (during the school year, August-May).
Position Overview:
- Program Type: School-Based Mentoring
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and support one-to-one mentoring relationships between volunteers and students (grades K-8).
- Conduct high-quality programming to meet the needs of the children and schools involved.
- Perform service delivery functions such as enrollment, volunteer matching, interviewing, and ongoing match support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Child Safety & Risk Management: Apply policies to ensure child safety and risk management in all job functions.
- Volunteer & Client Engagement: Manage volunteer and youth enrollment, including interviews, assessments, and reference checks. Guide volunteers from initial contact through enrollment.
- Matching & Support: Create and facilitate meaningful matches, ensuring they meet safety, developmental, and relational needs.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all interactions, and ensure comprehensive reports on participation and match support.
- Training & Development: Participate in training and attend local, regional, and national conferences to continue professional development.
- Event Participation: Attend three mandatory events throughout the year, which take place on weekends. These events are a critical part of the program and will require weekend availability.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Prior experience working with children and adults, with an understanding of child development and family dynamics. Specific experience with assessments and interviews is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and strong communication and relational skills.
- Transportation: Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and meet state-required automobile insurance minimums.
Work Environment:
- Office Setting: Routine office environment with frequent travel to program sites and other locations.
- Flexible Hours: Schedule flexibility, with a Monday to Friday workweek. However, three mandatory weekend events throughout the year will require availability beyond regular weekday hours.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour.
