POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Community Relations, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) is seeking a qualified Brand Ambassador to generate new contacts for all agency departments by sharing, representing, and promoting the BBBSMA brand and mission. The Brand Ambassador (BA) will serve as a first line of communication with new volunteers, community partners and potential donors. The BA should be a quick learner, enjoy meeting new people, and have strong communication and presentation skills to articulate the many ways that a supporter can be involved with the agency’s mission. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in both follow up and follow through with all internal and external stakeholders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for creating and generating new contacts for multiple departments to drive and attain agency goals in revenue and volunteer recruitment.
  • Represent and promote the organization at a variety of events, throughout the metro Atlanta region, to obtain new leads, contacts, and partners.
  • Promote and coordinate public relations and volunteer interest events.
  • Initiate opportunities to meet and steward potential donors, community partners, and volunteers
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers and partners.
  • Work to identify new partners, lead corporate lunch and learns, attend networking events and volunteer fairs, prepare and facilitate presentations, take 1 : 1 meetings with stakeholders who are interested in learning more about the BBBSMA mission and ways to get involved.
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and effectively hand them off for the next step in their engagement
  • Support the Partnerships team by coordinating logistics and execution of major volunteer and partnership events
  • Network, build rapport and positive relationships with all internal and external customers to recruit and retain contacts and grow partnership opportunities with local businesses, association memberships, college and university student groups, corporate business resource groups, fraternity and sorority chapters, and other community stakeholders.
  • Implement strategies to invite new mentors / volunteers into the program.
  • Create, update and maintain a bank of collateral and marketing resources.
  • Attend and participate in general speaking engagements, lunch and learns, and information sessions.
  • Always maintain a positive image of the brand.
  • Seek out opportunities to connect different groups, individuals, and corporations to BBBSMA .
  • Process and follow up with new leads using CRM (Salesforce)
  • Flexible to work nights and weekends as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate will be a team player and self-starter who demonstrates a passion for connecting and networking in the community. This person will be motivated, coachable and willing to learn and offer new strategies to connect people to the BBBSMA mission. This person will have outstanding customer service skills and will be comfortable speaking in front of an audience. The position requires the ability to work independently and use critical thinking in alignment with the organizational systems and processes of the department and agency. Must possess drive, enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility with a willingness to work as needed to accomplish job requirements and achieve objectives and benchmarks. The candidate must be organized with the ability to multitask, leveraging CRM and organizational tools to effectively manage tasks, track metrics, effectively work under pressure, use sound judgment and produce a quality work product even within tight time constraints.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least one year of public-facing customer service, community engagement, public relations, sales or marketing experience, two years preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit and / or corporate sales preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business administration or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with the communities in Metro Atlanta
  • Experience in professional networking
  • Comfortability using CRM / client management systems
  • PREFERRED SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE

  • Membership in professional or civic organizations preferred
  • Bilingual a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • Requires the use of standard office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, and printer)
  • This position reports to our headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Hybrid schedule, with travel within the region
  • 50% of time in this position will be spent traveling within the BBBSMA Region, comprised of the major Metro Atlanta counties and the Columbus, Georgia area
