FLOATING LEAD MENTOR
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to a Level Up Program Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) is seeking an enthusiastic and mission-driven Lead Mentor to join the agency located in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a full-time, exempt position that is focused on supporting youth through dedicated mentorship within a school setting.
The Floating Lead Mentor works out of our Level Up middle schools, based on need. The Floating Lead Mentor will fill in for a permanent Lead Mentor when there is an absence, vacancy, or other need for session coverage. They will support middle-school aged youth (Littles) through facilitating both group and individual in-person mentoring sessions. The Floating Lead Mentor will provide positive role modeling and exposure to help Littles plan and set goals and increase social and emotional skills, as well as their self-confidence and sense of belonging. They will collaborate with other Level Up team members to provide support with enrolling participants as well as with effectively delivering the program’s curriculum through direct session facilitation. An ideal candidate will be able to form relationships with youth that lead to positive outcomes and will enjoy the floating nature of this position, where the day-to-day assignment will vary.

- Ability to effectively and proactively communicate and collaborate with school and program staff
- Strong group facilitation and public speaking skills, specifically working with youth
- Ability to work autonomously with drive, enthusiasm, and flexibility to go along with a willingness to work as needed to accomplish job requirements
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads mentoring sessions by facilitating relationship development and lessons on a schedule established by the Program Director
- Inputs progress monitoring data for each session into our management system
- Prepares and implements mentoring curriculum and activities while filling in for a Lead Mentor
- Implements positive behavior facilitation strategies to ensure a safe mentoring environment
- Maintains attendance records for all mentoring sessions in Salesforce
- Attends and actively participates in Level Up team meetings as assigned
- Integrates into the school staffing model to provide value add service and ensure alignment with school policies
- Assists with enrollment and assessment of children for program participation
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 4years relevant work experience in related fields, such as social work, counseling, social services, child development, or education.
- Previous experience working in schools is preferred.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field preferred.
- Bilingual positions require candidates to write and speak Spanish fluently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of and use of a customer relations management (CRM) system a plus (Salesforce preferred)
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check conducted by BBBSMA and the relevant school district
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position will be based out of an assigned school Atlanta area middle school. Attendance at the BBBSMA headquarters will be required when school is not in session and as needed.
- Regular hours will be Monday through Friday, aligning with the school hours.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Base salary is budgeted between $40,000 43,000 based on experience and qualifications.
