Position Overview
The Development Coordinator is a key member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters team, responsible for supporting the organization’s fundraising and donor engagement initiatives. This role ensures accurate and detailed donor records, event management, and stewardship activities while providing exceptional service to donors, sponsors, and volunteers. The Development Coordinator will collaborate with the Executive Director, staff, and volunteers to achieve development goals and enhance the overall donor experience.

Primary Responsibilities
Events Management
- Coordinate all aspects of development events, including planning, logistics, sponsorship fulfillment, volunteer and staff direction, vendor coordination, and on-site fundraising.
- Provide administrative and organizational support to event committees and volunteers.
- Assist with solicitation calls during active campaigns.
- Ensure marketing and communication needs for events are met, including promotional materials and donor recognition.
- Maintain accurate and accessible records for all event activities, donors, and goals within the donor database.
- Evaluate and improve event performance annually in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Support evening and weekend events as needed.
Donor Stewardship Support
- Track and manage stewardship efforts, ensuring timely and personalized donor communication.
- Prepare and distribute acknowledgment letters, receipts, invoices, and other donor communications.
- Assist with data entry, thank-you calls, and creating engaging donor communications to empower and retain supporters.
- Coordinate special touches such as birthday, sympathy, or thank-you cards for donors and volunteers.
Data Management
- Maintain accurate donor database records, including gifts, pledges, and donor interactions.
- Ensure data accuracy through regular cleaning, updating, and mining.
- Generate reports, develop invitation lists, and track RSVPs for events.
- Manage revenue deposits and reconcile development records with financial systems in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Conduct donor research to identify new prospects and deepen relationships with current supporters.
Grant Applications & Reporting
- Maintain a calendar of funder applications and reporting deadlines.
- Prepare and submit assigned grant applications and reports, gathering necessary information from staff and stakeholders.
- Communicate grant receipt details and requirements to relevant staff and manage tracking systems for grant deliverables.
General Support
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and other staff to advance development efforts.
- Attend required meetings and events, always representing Big Brothers Big Sisters in a professional and positive manner.
- Abide by all organizational policies and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, event planning, or donor relations.
- Proficiency in donor database management, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
