Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Part-Time Program Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will conduct child and volunteer outreach and enrollments. You will conduct match introductory meetings, and support of volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) and youth (“Littles”) in our mentoring programs. You will help ensure each match is safe, supported, and positioned for long-term success.
This position is perfect for someone with strong people skills, a heart for youth development, and the ability to balance administrative responsibilities with community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and enroll volunteers and youth for mentoring programs.
- Conduct interviews, orientations, and safety education for participants.
- Facilitate the match process between mentors and youth, including scheduling introductions.
- Provide ongoing match support through regular check-ins via phone, email, and in-person visits.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in our online case management system.
- Assist with planning and hosting match activities, events, and trainings.
- Collaborate with community partners and represent the agency at outreach events.
- Ensure safety standards and risk management procedures are followed throughout all interactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with youth and families, particularly in diverse communities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable using online platforms and databases.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel across the region.
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
- Experience with sales, volunteer management or mentoring programs
Work Schedule & Environment
- Flexible part-time schedule (20–25 hours/week), including occasional evenings or weekends for events.
- Regular community-based visits and some remote work.
