What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mentoring Case Manager - Sarasota position at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast?
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast is seeking an outgoing, experienced Human Services professional twith a passion for working with youth in Sarasota and the surrounding area in the county in the role of Mentor Manager . BBBS Sun Coast is an Agency that promotes the mentoring relationships between Bigs and Littles for the purpose of igniting the potential in each child served.
NOTE : This position reports to the new location at 5731 Rosin Way near the intersection of Clark Rd and Honore Ave in Sarasota.

The primary responsibility of this position is to cultivate and create successful matches from those relationships within the community while promoting BBBS Sun Coast as the non-profit agency of choice for volunteering and supporting.
Ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in social or human services, education, or similar field of study; or a combination of education and experience; or 4 years of relevant work experience in a related field. Ideal candidate lives in the Sarasota area to best service our initiatives in those areas.
Ability to fluently communicate in Spanish is a plus.
What are the key duties of the role?
- Performs interviews and assessments for volunteer candidates, children and families for coordination of new matches
- Maintains all documentation required for each case match by following established protocols in a timely manner.
- Communicates with parents, children, teachers, mentors, volunteers and the community
- Develops events for Big & Littles with the help of other internal departments as part of the mentoring process
- Provides activities and training for Volunteer development
- Follows up as required with all active matches including an annual review
- Meets or exceeds all metrics set for the Mentor Manager role
- Ability to identify opportunities to recruit children and volunteers for further outreach
- Ability to work some evenings and weekend hours to support the activities of the matches such as interviews and events
- Must have dependable transportation. Offsite meetings common.
