While the primary focus is on supporting the matching process, this position plays a vital role in delivering a seamless and supportive experience from enrollment through match connection.

Hiring Salary Range: $20.50 - $22.50/hour - The starting rate will be based on skills and demonstrated readiness for the role.
Note: Previous experience with the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) enrollment process is preferred.
Hours/Day: 15 - 20 hours - Primarily evenings with some potential for weekends. Flexible to your schedule and the needs of participants in our program.

Essential Job Functions
- Volunteer Enrollment Support
- Complete the volunteer reference process, ensuring timely follow-up and documentation.
- Support volunteer background check runs, as needed.
- Support evening and weekend virtual Parent/Guardian program orientations by hosting Zoom meeting spaces.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the agency database and ensuring compliance with child safety and confidentiality standards.
Support Matching Process:
- Conduct match proposal calls by contacting volunteers, youth, and families to discuss potential matches, answer questions, and gather input to inform match decisions.
- Support accurate and timely updates in shared reports to reflect progress in the matching process.
- Assist in the tracking of matching-related metrics, documentation, and internal coordination.
- Serve as a backup for the Enrollment Experience Coordinator assigning match proposal calls, ensuring timely communication and a personalized experience for participants.
- Assist the Assistant Managers by running match reports and creating BatchGeo maps for matching meetings.
- Interview, Enroll, and Assess Diverse Participants for the Program During Peak Times
- Schedule and conduct in-depth interviews in-person and virtually.
- Lead coaching conversations grounded in agency values of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion values.
- Apply child safety and risk management protocols, including mandated reporting.
- Write detailed assessments based on participant interviews, including objective observations, match recommendations, and training needs.
- Ensure database entries meet agency standards and confidentiality.
- Administer surveys to participants to assess relationship and youth outcomes for grant compliance.
- Make final decisions on participant acceptance into the program.
Requirements

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field. Or meet one of the following qualifications:
- Within 6 months of completing bachelor’s degree
- AA degree and 2 years relevant work experience
- No degree, 4 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of youth mentoring programs, child safety standards, and relationship-centered program models, especially within the BBBS framework
- Goal oriented
- Ability to build trust and communicate effectively with youth, families, and volunteers across diverse backgrounds—via phone, email, video, or in person
- Demonstrated understanding and application of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) principles; values youth voice and cultural responsiveness
- Capable of managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail in a flexible and fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using databases such as Salesforce (or similar CRM platforms), Microsoft Office, video conferencing tools, and data tracking systems
- Knowledge of mandated reporting, confidentiality practices, and maintaining high standards for child safety and data integrity
- Willing to step into various EMT functions as needed, especially during high-volume periods or to support evenings/weekends as scheduled
- Provides warm, responsive support to all participants, maintaining professionalism and empathy throughout the enrollment and matching process
- Demonstrated familiarity with BBBS enrollment procedures, match coordination, and documentation standards preferred and required

Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities is the largest and oldest youth mentoring organization in the greater Twin Cities serving Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka and parts of Dakota and Washington counties. Each year, we match up to 2,600 youth (Littles) and their families with caring adults (Bigs) who volunteer as youth mentors.
