The Expeditor at Big Chill Island House ensures our quality and product is served to each of our guests, every time. The Expeditor makes sure the line is always stocked, clean, neat, and safe. They are the bridge between the front and back of the house, in addition to being the last line of defense assuring the guests are presented with only the best! Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain expert knowledge of our food offerings, recipes, procedures, and proper presentation
- Communicate with service staff and kitchen staff to ensure orders are delivered accurately and efficiently
- Follow the pace of each table and ensure servers are not rushing or lagging tables
- Show the staff genuine care and respect while pushing them to move faster, but remain efficient
- Maintain ability to keep calm under pressure and be the anchor of the restaurant
- Read tickets and get each order out in a timely manner
- Inspect each dish for accuracy, presentation, and portion consistency
- Ensure garnishes, sauces and finishing touches are properly applied
- Maintain a clean and organized expo station and assist in restocking supplies when needed
- Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the company at all times
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar position;
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel, and guests;
- Must be clean, organized and able to project their voice;
- Must have reliable transportation;
- Must be eligible to work in the United States;
- Professional appearance, punctual, reliable;
- Hospitality soul with guest friendly demeanor;
- Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to work in very fast paced environment;
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours);
- Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed; ability to balance personal and work life
- Frequently walk and occasionally bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch;
- This position requires the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds as well as climbing up and down stairs quite frequently during shifts.
