This role involves creating training content, conducting safety orientations, and coordinating training for all project personnel. Additionally, the Safety Trainer will assist in implementing new safety programs and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Experience/Training
- Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, Instructional design, HR, Education or related business equivalent is preferred.
- 5-7 years of construction safety experience
- 3 years’ experience developing training/instructional design in a business setting.
- OSHA Outreach Instructor (OSHA 500)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or other safety certifications are desirable.
- Valid drivers license with a good driving record
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to lead the implementation of training, programs, and procedures developed by Big-D Corporate EH&S.
- Previous work managing and reporting in a Learning Management System.
- Must have proven experience developing curriculum from conceptions to delivery.
- Experience with eLearning authoring tools is required.
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must be self-driven, organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently.
- Ability to effectively present information in one on one, virtual, and group settings.
- Must have an understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design models.
- Passionate about learning and development.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Create and present engaging safety training content and instructional materials such as learning curriculum, participation guides, training manuals, eLearning/digital content, and microlearning.
- Conduct training in live settings, virtual, and eLearning formats throughout the company’s various locations.
- Define, document, and assist in evaluating effectiveness of learning objectives.
- Administration and support of the learning management system such as content management and organization, user trainings, data entry, and adoption with the end goal of optimizing the employee learning experience and measurement of effectiveness and completion rates.
- Conduct specialty training as needed on project sites or office locations.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, and/or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to manipulate handle, or feel,
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
