Job Summary:
Big Daddy’s BBQ is looking for an energetic and responsible Shift Lead to oversee daily operations during shifts, ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly. This role involves leading a team of staff members, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for BBQ and soul food, and the ability to handle both the front and back of house operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead & Supervise Staff:
- Direct and support the team during shifts, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
- Provide guidance and feedback to staff, helping them maintain excellent customer service standards.
- Assist in training new employees and offering on-the-job guidance.
- Handle employee scheduling and manage shift transitions as needed.
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Ensure customers receive exceptional service at all times, addressing any concerns or complaints promptly.
- Lead by example, offering friendly and professional service to customers.
- Ensure front-of-house staff are maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere.
- Operations & Inventory:
- Assist with inventory checks, ensure supplies are stocked, and communicate needs to management.
- Oversee the flow of orders, from kitchen to customer, ensuring food quality and timely service.
- Ensure food and drink items are presented properly and according to restaurant standards.
- Monitor restaurant cleanliness and help with cleaning duties as necessary.
- Shift Management:
- Open and close the restaurant as needed, ensuring all opening/closing procedures are followed.
- Handle cash and credit transactions and assist with end-of-shift cash reconciliation.
- Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety standards and company policies.
- Problem-Solving & Decision Making:
- Step in to resolve conflicts or issues that may arise between staff members or with customers.
- Make quick decisions during busy periods to ensure smooth service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role in the food service industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable handling cash transactions and managing a register.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
