Overview
The Unloader plays a critical role in the logistics and distribution process within our warehouse environment. This position involves efficiently unloading products from delivery trucks and ensuring that they are properly stored in the designated areas of the distribution center. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Unload merchandise from delivery trucks using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and RF scanners.
- Sort and organize products for easy access and inventory management.
- Build pallets for storage or shipment, ensuring items are securely stacked to prevent damage.
- Operate heavy equipment, including cranes, when necessary, to assist with unloading large or bulky items.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to maintain an efficient workflow and adhere to safety protocols.
- Perform heavy lifting as required, handling items that may weigh up to 50 pounds or more.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of incoming shipments.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating RF scanners for tracking inventory movement.
- Experience using pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of distribution center operations and best practices.
- Ability to build stable pallets for storage or shipment effectively.
- Experience as an order picker is a plus, demonstrating the ability to select items accurately from inventory.
- Competence in heavy equipment operation, including cranes, is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong physical stamina and capability for heavy lifting tasks throughout the shift.
