Effective record keeping for packaging and finished goods inventory (completing cycle counts, lot tracking, general spot counting)
Effective and safe unloading and loading of truck trailers / shipments (following all safety guidelines and shipping protocols) completing NetSuite transactions including (receiving, fulfilling, transfer orders, sales orders, cycle counts)
Material housekeeping - responsible for handling / storing / removal or scrap pallets, empty drums, large debris / trash, cardboard bales, totes and other items that require a forklift to move or place, this includes daily / weekly sanitation & cleaning tasks.
Facility housekeeping - responsible for shipping yard / dock and backyard / discard & recycle area cleanliness, neatness, and upkeep. -this includes daily / weekly sanitation & cleaning tasks.
Work area housekeeping - responsible for the pallet wrappers / workstation / ingredient room / finished goods warehouse / production staging area / packaging & storage rooms cleanliness, neatness, and upkeep - this includes daily / weekly sanitation & cleaning tasks
Equipment housekeeping / maintenance - responsible for the daily inspection, cleaning, and basic maintenance of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet wrappers, tools, and workstation items. Logging and promptly reporting any items of concern to management.
Effectively service the production lines - providing all necessary materials and components for production to produce in advance (no delays or downtime for waiting on supplies) in addition to tending to requests as needed with a sense of urgency. (The production line is our customer)
Responsibility to follow all safety guidelines and training, in addition to promptly reporting any safety discrepancies or incidents to management. This includes damage / injury to personnel, materials, or company property.
Responsibility to review quality specifications daily on pallets coming from the production line as well as inventory existing in the warehouse. This includes completing the daily quality checklist, reporting discrepancies and logging / tagging / placing items on QA hold as needed.
Requirements
Required Skills / Abilities :
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
Safety first approach to all work operations
Basic understanding of computer functions and literacy
The ability to take initiative, work independently, and proactively identify tasks or projects to begin working on without needing prompting
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid state motor vehicle operator's license for forklift truck required.
At least two years of work experience in a warehouse required.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Ability to move around the warehouse.
Able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to bend / stoop, squat / crouch, climb, kneel and twist.
