Taproom Retail Merchandiser-Iowa City

Summary/Objective
Big Grove is a regional multi-location brewery, based out of Iowa City, IA. We are looking for someone with retail merchandising and management experience located in the greater Des Moines area to help drive sales in Big Grove’s retail spaces in our 5 taproom locations. This position will require someone with creative thinking skills and the ability to collect and analyze data.

Essential Functions

• Merchandise all taproom retail spaces on a monthly basis
• Train and develop Merch Leads on procedures and processes
• Update and maintain training documents and communication with taproom staff
• Analyze sales data of the taproom to:
  • Ensure proper size runs and inventory levels
  • Communicate sales trends and product needs with Merchandise Director
  • Assist in determining which products should be reduced in price
• Collaborate with Taproom Event Managers and Taproom Marketing Managers to support their events and communications with the inclusion of merchandise as appropriate
• Determine potential market relevant options for location based merchandise.
• Deliver products to taprooms as needed
• Oversee monthly inventory counting
• Assist in the organization of products in inventory management platform
• Create PO’s and and manage transfers between taproom locations
• Participate in 2-3 trade shows and pop-up shops each year, inducing Ragbrai

Supervisory Responsibility

This role will be responsible for overseeing the work of the Merch Leads at each taproom, although the Merch Leads will report directly to the Store Director at their own location.

This position operates out of a hospitality/brewery/office environment.

This position is moderately active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, salary position working Monday-Friday from 9-5. The business is open 7 days a week during many day parts. Evening and weekends may be required for special events.

Travel

Travel to taprooms and trade show events may be required. Delivery of products to taprooms will require the use of a car. Must have a Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance.

• Degree in Apparel Design and merchandising or 4 years experience in retail merchandising and management
• Willing and able to travel between Omaha and Eastern Iowa taprooms and potentially beyond
• Experience with Excel and Google Sheets
• Experience analyzing data a plus
• Able to collaborate and communicate with a diverse group of people
• Able to lift 50lbs and climb step ladders
