Duties
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Assist patients with therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve their physical and cognitive abilities.
- Provide support in the assessment of patients’ progress and report findings to the supervising occupational therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on home health strategies and techniques to enhance daily living skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, progress notes, and treatment outcomes.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for therapy sessions, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy, including knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Experience
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Previous experience in home health, pediatrics, geriatrics, or acute care settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of ADLs and the ability to assist patients with various needs.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to occupational therapy practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous for effective communication within the healthcare team.
