Tire Technician Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Service Tire Technician to join our team. This position will be working remotely around the Billings, MT region. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tire service and maintenance. As a Tire Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and performance of our customers' vehicles through tire installation and other related services. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work effectively with various power tools.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Properly dismount and remount tires and wheels securely on vehicle
- Properly dismount and remount tires onto wheels without damaging either
- Operate all related equipment and tools as trained
- Perform and demonstrate customer service satisfaction
- Prepares tires for installation; mounts and dismounts tires on rims and vehicles; and fills tires to the proper air pressure.
- Inspects and tests tires to ensure conformance to standards.
- Examines and probes damaged, defective, or flat tires to determine the extent of damage and the feasibility of repair; and recommends the disposal of non-repairable tires.
- Operates and maintains diagnostic equipment, hand/power tools, tire changing machines, balancing equipment, and other specialized automotive tools and machinery.
- Practices safety methods in the operation of equipment and performance of duties.
- Safe operation of company vehicles, including compliance with speed and traffic regulations
- Ensure truck is adequately supplied with all necessary supplies before departing shop to handle service calls.
- Ensure truck, all tools and equipment are in good operating condition.
- Perform vehicle inspections at the beginning of each work day and immediately report problems or mechanical defects to the Fleet Manager.
- Check all fluid levels in truck and air compressor during inspection.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness (inside and out).
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Lift a minimum of forty-five (45) pounds.
- Operate Forklift as required with proper certification.
- Perform repeated and repetitive movement consistent within the tire industry, including frequent bending, twisting, and lifting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Tech level II, and Tech level III may require additional qualifications.
