Social Media & Marketing Coordinator

Big Hype Marketing is looking for a full-time, in-house social media coordinator at our Newport Beach, CA office. We are looking for someone who has experience in marketing and social media, is creative, has good writing skills, can edit social media video, has Canva design skills, is good with talking and listening to people (i.e. clients), someone who is self-motivated, and we would love if you have photography skills.


In this position you will be a part of our core team, playing an integral role in helping plan, manage, and execute social media strategies, content writing strategies, email marketing strategies, and more…


We are a small boutique marketing agency that works with privately-owned, small to large-size businesses nationwide. We work with all different kinds of clients so our days are always different. We work with some celebrities, some huge global brands, and also smaller local businesses like, attorneys, financial advisors, CPA’s, storage facilities, and more. Job Description:

In this position you will be managing social media; writing copy for social media, blogs, and email; filming reels, coming up with creative ideas, and helping tell our client’s stories through branding and marketing.


We are looking for someone who:

· Has experience in social media marketing

· Is a skillful designer who has the ability to interpret a vision and create it into a marketable space (Canva skills are ok, Adobe skills are a plus)

· Has good writing skills and understands how to write for social media and marketing

· Has a creative mind who understands marketing and branding

· Has an ability to manage work efficiently and produce content within tight deadlines

· Is a diverse creator who’s excited to take on new projects

· Is a go-getter ready to take initiative and accountability for all projects; you are a resourceful and a disciplined self-starter

· Is a life-long learner who constantly seeks ways to tell a story about a product and brand

· Is willing to research information and learn about clients, their services, and uniqueness.


You must be able to:

· Immerse yourself in each client and learn all about each company and industry.

· Come up with creative and engaging ideas that fit the brands and goal of each company.

· Have exceptional writing skills as everything we do requires writing.

· Be clever and witty in creating captions and attention-grabbing headlines.

· Have enough Canva/graphic design capabilities to create eye-catching graphics.

· Have the ability to edit reels and add music, captions, etc.

· Develop and maintain social & content calendars.

· Engage with target audience for various clients on all platforms.

· Prepare reports and digest data to apply moving forward.

· Speak with clients and manage and maintain their expectations.

· Keep up on social media trends.

· Photography and videography skills are a plus


The ideal candidate is:

· A multi-tasker

· Has 2-3 years experience in social media channel management at a professional organization

· Able to manage multiple concurrent platforms and work streams efficiently.

· Has clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

· Likes collaborating as a team and takes feedback well

· Is a creative thinker

· Has experience on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok and is open to learning these platforms as they develop as well as any future platform that emerges.

· Has an editing eye


Pay: $25/hour ($52,000/year)
