The Role :
In this newly created position, the Commercial Lines Manager will have a dual role as a team leader and producer. This individual will focus on leading, managing, growing and holding the commercial team accountable following the EOS operating system. The manager will identify, discuss and solve issues, and implement strategies for efficient sales and service operations. They will also complete and oversee daily department operations, in addition to selling and retaining business. To flourish in this role, the individual must be a critical thinker, be self-driven to succeed, and always have the desire to learn and develop themself and others. The ultimate measurement of success for the Commercial Lines Manager will be overall commercial department revenue growth.
Responsibilities : Team Lead (~25%) :
Lead, manage and hold the commercial department accountable following the EOS operating systemContinually create, review, revise and implement and enforce commercial lines proceduresReview commercial department processes and performance to identify areas where individual employees and the entire department can improve their efficiencyIdentify and minimize risks to the department and agencyDevelop and manage team budgetGrow department through organic growth and by hiring and training additional team members as needs are identified (sales and service)Train and ensure team members have the skills and competences requiredAudit and provide constructive feedback to encourage and motivate the team and achieve personal and professional successCollect, analyze, and present data to the team and Principal in a way that they can understand and learn fromWork closely with Principal, Operations, and Personal Lines Manager to maintain open and honest communication, compliance, and continuity amongst the agencySales & Retention (~70%) :
Focus on prospect identification and conversation process, exercising self-confidence and humility to find success in sales through focusing on niche markets and identifying target clientsPresent and advise the prospect, close the sale and warmly transfer the new client to the commercial lines teams to handle the post-sale and account maintenanceRetain newly established and existing clients through policy renewal reviews to address risks and coverages, retain and grow business and enhance client relationshipsMeet established goals to retain and grow new businessService (~5%) :
Assist Commercial Lines servicing team in daily operations, including processing and verifying changes, claims intake and management, issuing certificates, billing and payment, educating and advising clients to confirm that policyholder needs are best addressed, as well as other areas, including addressing escalated concerns with clients, underwriters or managementCompensation : $65,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
