Big Ideas is looking for positive, friendly and motivated individuals that would like to join our exciting and engaging instructor team. People who fit our team are retired, active or have a minimum experience of 2 years in the skilled trades to become part of our instructor team. This fun and interact way to expose learners ages 13 to adults about all the different skilled trades pathways while working with a professional
Big Ideas uses state of the art simulators and interactive stations to bring the skilled trades to schools, minorities, adults, ALC’s, juvenile detention centers and many more to show the importance of skilled trades and their possibilities.
We are looking for people that have experience or knowledge in the skilled trades to interact with these learners at events in either a hourly rotation style or open house style of events. Each event is either four, six or eight hours long and can be all over the state of Minnesota and parts of Iowa. The events do not happen every day, and mainly happen Monday through Friday. Events will be on a first come first serve basis for signing up. This job is more of a select the days you want to work that are available job not a normal 9-5 work schedule. There will be a four-hour initial training/ interview held in New Ulm MN and must pass a background check before being able to sign up for events.
What we are looking for is:
-Experience in the skilled trades (plumbing, HVAC, Welding, etc…)
-Flexible schedule.
-Team player.
-Be computer friendly.
-Motivated and passionate about skilled trades.
-Works well with youth, people with disabilities and adults.
-Be able to give detailed instructions while demonstrating on the simulators or stations.
-Pass a background check.
-Willing to travel occasionally.
-Be professional on, at and during the events.
