Job Function:
The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for processing payroll, administering employee benefits, and supporting key HR functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in employee compensation and records management. This role plays a vital part in ensuring payroll is executed seamlessly, benefits are administered effectively, and employees receive the necessary support for their compensation and benefits needs.
Essential Functions:
- Process and administer payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
- Maintain payroll records, including earnings, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with payroll reporting, tax filings, and year-end documentation (W-2s, 1099s, etc.).
- Collaborates with the Total Rewards Specialist to review source data for benefits and retirement plan reporting. Assists in follow-up procedures to ensure data accuracy and compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and processes.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll and benefits-related questions.
- Ensure payroll and benefits practices comply with legal requirements and company policies.
- Prepare and submit required reports related to payroll and benefits administration.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Educate employees on payroll and benefits policies and procedures.
- Assist with new hire onboarding by explaining payroll and benefits options.
- Collaborate with Finance, and external vendors to support employee needs.
