Position Overview: Responsible for packaging and labeling flower and manufactured products, as well as maintaining the equipment and workspace in a clean and orderly manner. The Packaging Technician is required to work with the team and work as an equal contributing team member. Must be also able to work independently and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Adheres to company mission statement and core values and maintains high ethical standards and professionalism in all business interactions
- Required to adhere to State law in relation to HRS 329-D and Chapter 11-850
- Verify that all labeling meets the regulatory standards as outlined in HRS 11-850
- Communicate inventory needs to the procurement team to prevent shortages
- Operate and maintain packaging equipment, ensuring all machines and/or tools are functioning correctly and safely
- Identify and report any packaging defects or quality issues to the supervisor
- Identify contamination or conditions, which may be impacting the quality of finished cannabis products, and report as per company policy in a timely manner
- Ensures that the packaging and processing room, all work surfaces, and equipment have all been maintained in a sanitary manner before beginning duties for the day
- Efficiently work within Biotrack software to properly weigh, package and label all ready to sell flower, and other manufactured products
- Maintain awareness of inventories of flower by strain and different product types, support supplies to include but not limited to gloves, isopropyl alcohol, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, and any other personal protection or production equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks and report any needs to the IT/Logistics Manager
- Reports to their direct supervisor if there appears to be potential bottlenecks or hazards and/or forecasting begin to arise
- Suggest and implement improvements to packaging processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks following the completion of shifts, including the safe and orderly storage of processing equipment
- May perform other duties and tasks as assigned
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), take direction, have a strong attention to detail, and daily demonstrate a willingness to work together as a team
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred
- Must be 21 years or older
- Experience within the cannabis industry is preferred
- Must be able to successfully pass a DOH background check and maintain DOH background clearance
- Attend any and all required meetings and training; and undergo additional trainings as requested; including participating in professional development trainings hosted by the company
- Firm understanding of HRS 329-D and H.A.R. 11-850; or willingness to gain a firm understanding
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry

- Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

- Good communication skills
- Able to function in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Is able to work flexible hours, when needed, and able to work with minimal to no supervision

- Shows self-motivation/innovation and the ability to work well with all members of their staff and the company, as well as with their direct supervisor
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively with various audiences, especially with the direct supervisors and other co-workers
- Ability to perform a monotonous task with great efficiency without losing quality
The Location and Hours:
Located in the surrounding Hilo area.
Fulltime works hours Monday to Thursday (6am to 4pm)
