Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of animal anatomy and care, along with the ability to handle and restrain animals safely.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals, including feeding and grooming.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Utilize animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both the animal and staff.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines when necessary.
- Participate in the maintenance of a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program is preferred.
- Experience in veterinary critical care or emergency services is a plus.
- Strong skills in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and basic veterinary medical terminology.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary medicine.
- Ability to help with receptionist duties, schedule appointments, answer phones.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals and their well-being.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 42 per week
