We are inviting an energetic, motivated, and dedicated individual to join our team and train as a surgical dental assistant. Newer dental assistants are welcome to apply but will require on the job training and self study. The role of the surgical dental assistant is essential in delivering exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes to meet the needs of our patients and referring dentists. These needs include, but are not limited to, general dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery and reconstructive surgery. The surgical assistant will support the surgeon and patients before, during, and after surgery, perform administrative tasks as needed, and maintain a safe, hygienic workplace.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain BLS certification within 90 days
- Word processing/computer skills
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and stand throughout the day
- Dental office experience
Experience/Certification desired (not required):
- Dental Assistant/nursing assistant/scrub tech
- X-Ray
- Out patient surgery
- DAANCE Certification
- Denture Processing
- Intraoral scanning

Responsibilities:
- Interacting with patients throughout their journey in a friendly, informative, and supportive manner
- Take vital signs
- Aquire x-rays & 3D scans
- Clean, prepare, and stock patient rooms
- Appropriately prepare equipment and supplies necessary for procedures while anticipating the surgeons needs
- Maintains an unobstructed operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, suction, and irrigating equipment
- Appropriately use, handle, and process all equipment and instruments
- Follow all OSHA, CDC and practice safety policies
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and Privacy Policy
- Other related duties as assigned.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
