As a Loss Prevention Specialist, a typical day might include the following:
- Monitoring retail stores for unusual activity and potential threats including the stores themselves as well as reviewing security camera footage and inventory systems
- Identifying potential threats of theft from customers or staff
- Working with CardVault leadership and store management to implement shrink reduction policies and resources
- Demonstrating an understanding of law enforcement procedures; involving law enforcement agencies and working with officials when needed
- Participating in theft investigations; maintaining appropriate evidence and documentation
- Protecting staff, customers, equipment, merchandise, and cash
- Promoting a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality
- Promoting general safety awareness and supporting maintenance of a safe environment
- Other duties as assigned
This job might be for you if you demonstrate the following abilities and meet the following qualifications:
- Minimum two years direct loss prevention or asset protection experience required
- High school diploma required. Bachelors degree in criminal justice or business related field preferred
- Must have basic computer skills as well as the ability to learn and understand various inventory and sales systems
- Proven ability to problem solve and effectively manage conflict
- Must have good observation skills, and be patient, alert and aware
- Ability to use good judgment and make difficult decisions that affect the safety and well-being of others
- Ability to maintain effective communication and composure in a stressful environment
