Van Driver

Van or Box Truck driving requirements

Prior professional driving experience preferred

Our insurance and DOT require;

• No accidents,no tickets,no DUI, No OWI past 5 years
• Drug testing
• DOT physical may be required
• Provide a continuous 3 year work history with references

Other requirements

• You will be a 10-99 contract driver
• Vans will depart La Porte,IN and may or may not be away 5-8 days
• Consent will be required to conduct background check
• Must have a smart phone with data for apps shippers require
• Must have a genuine passion for driving and travel
• Have great attention to records
• Have great communication skills
• Be able to be friendly with shippers,dispatchers companies
• Have a lot of patience
• At times you will have to load and unload manually, most freight is no touch
• Be able to be at home or quickly available for trips at last minute, 15 minutes van pick up
• Willing to obtain steel toed shoes or boots
• Sign a waiver and indemnity agreement
• No smoking
• Have a checking account for direct deposit
• Be ok with electronic vehicle tracking

Other

• Pay is $.35 a mile
• Willing to conduct a zoom interview

• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including heavy lifting when necessary.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Keep accurate records of trips, including mileage and freight documents.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any customer inquiries or concerns during transit.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license experience professional driving is a plus.
• Proven experience as a van driver or in a similar role, preferably in paratransit or delivery driving.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers with their belongings.
• A clean driving record with no major violations is essential.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $19.91 - $26.25 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 80 per week
