What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant position at Big Pine Medical and Minor Emergency Center?
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Prescribe medications and order appropriate treatments
- Perform venipuncture and other procedures as needed
- Provide case management services to patients with complex medical needs
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation
- Participate in utilization management and utilization review processes
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to provide integrated care
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology in the assessment and treatment of patients with working people developmental disabilities
Experience:
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a clinical setting
- Strong background in primary care or specialty area (e.g., family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine)
- Proficient in conducting comprehensive physical examinations and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards and best practices
- Experience in case management and coordinating care for patients with complex needs
- Maintain an active DOT Physical certification (or acquire within 90 days of hire date)
