Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lube Technician to join our maintenance team at our sawmill facility. The Lube Technician will be responsible for maintaining and servicing the lubrication systems of our machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operation and reduce downtime. This is a full-time position on the first shift with a focus on preventative maintenance and timely lubrication of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular lubrication of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect, monitor, and replenish oil and grease levels in sawmill equipment, conveyors, motors, and other mechanical systems.
- Adhere to scheduled maintenance programs to minimize machine downtime and maximize production efficiency.
- Maintain and monitor lubrication equipment (grease guns, oil pumps, etc.) and ensure their proper function.
- Report any issues or abnormalities discovered during lubrication activities to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Document maintenance activities in the work order system and update lubrication records as required.
- Assist in performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment by following safety procedures and guidelines.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate maintenance tasks and priorities.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery to transport materials and tools when needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in maintenance, lubrication, or a related field preferred (experience in a manufacturing or sawmill environment is a plus).
- Knowledge of lubrication techniques, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate well with other departments.
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy and dusty environment.
- Basic computer skills for logging work orders and maintaining maintenance records.
- Must have reliable transportation and be available to work first shift hours.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Ability to work in various temperature conditions, including hot and cold environments.
