Job Title : Reliability Engineer - Saw Mill

Position Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and results-oriented Reliability Engineer to join our team at our Saw Mill facility. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing the reliability, availability, and performance of the plant's machinery and equipment. This engineer will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating operational risks while ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime across the entire sawmill operation. The role will involve a combination of technical analysis, preventative maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Reliability Analysis : Analyze equipment failures and breakdowns to identify root causes and recommend solutions to improve reliability and performance.
- Preventative Maintenance : Work with the Maintenance Superintendent to develop and implement a proactive maintenance program to increase machine uptime and reduce the risk of unplanned outages. Analyze downtime reports and equipment history, to identify trends and solutions regarding reoccurring maintenance issues
- Condition Monitoring : Use predictive and diagnostic tools (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, etc.) to assess equipment health and predict potential failures.
- Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) : Conduct risk assessments and FMEA on equipment and processes to ensure safety and reliability standards are met.
- Maintenance Optimization : Work closely with the maintenance team to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime through effective planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Continuous Improvement : Lead initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability, implementing lean manufacturing practices, and enhancing the overall performance of the sawmill operations.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) : Lead the investigation of critical failures, identifying root causes, and ensuring corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
- Data Analysis : Review and interpret performance data, such as maintenance logs, downtime reports, and production statistics, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaboration & Support : Collaborate with the operations, production, and maintenance teams to ensure a seamless operation and adherence to production schedules.
- Compliance : Ensure that all reliability practices comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Safety -participates in regular safety meetings, with a goal of zero lost-time incidents on site, while contributing to improvements in the safety culture of the site
Qualifications :
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a maintenance or reliability engineering role, preferably in an industrial setting such as a sawmill or manufacturing facility.
Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles and methodologies.
Reliability Engineering certifications (CRE, CRL, etc.)
