To coordinate all responsibilities and tasks associated with inbound and outbound rail movements
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Environment is typically in an office setting with a controlled environment. Physical responsibilities do include going into the plant, external locations and scale houses as needed. General work hours are expected with
some overtime depending on the workload.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not supervise others.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all domestic and export shipments
- Prioritize and plan accurate and timely shipments with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Quality, and Shipping
- Forecast equipment needs; place order/s for equipment; continuously monitor equipment supply
- Print and distribute Bills of Lading (BOLs), Load Cards, and Coil Tags
- Research and resolve questions related to rail shipments
- Facilitate resolution of weight, package, and location issues for rail shipments
- Maintain organized files with all BOLs, export documentation, and shipment paperwork
- Conduct new carrier and vendor setup
- Maintain and conduct Transportation Management System (TMS) training for rail carriers
- Set up preferred carrier allocations
- Assist with cost/rate retrieval and maintenance
- Assist with the negotiation of freight rates
- Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics’ planning and execution
- Facilitate timely invoice resolution for carriers and vendors
- Track and minimize demurrage costs
- Initiate and close freight claims for rail shipments
- Obtain Proof of Delivery (POD) Requests
- Publish daily and ad-hoc reports as needed
- Performs other duties as required

Requirements and Skills:
- Proficient use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, to set priorities, and to meet deadlines
- Strong organization and analytical skills
- Self-managing; works well with little supervision
- Geographically competent
- Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external parties regarding issues and changes

Education and Experience:
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline
- 5 to 7 years of related experience with no degree
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
