Paving Workers

Big Rock Paving, LLC is looking for a full time Paver Operator, Paving Laborers, and Paving Foreman. Paving personnel will be expected to cooperate and work productively with all members of Big Rock Paving, LLC and our sister company Rylind Construction Company, Inc. (when applicable).

Essential Job Functions:

• Working on initial construction or resurfacing projects.
• Paving personnel must be able to operate equipment and adequately mix and spread materials, so the road surface is level and of the proper consistency.
• Communicate with paving crew and foreman on job density requirements, material or finished mat.
• Have a thorough understanding of material thickness, type of material being laid, and material temperature.
• Work may be performed in an environment with exposure to extremely hot materials, fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease, and oils, as well as loud and/or constant noise and exposure to moving equipment.
• Safely operate equipment in and among live traffic.
• Perform end-of-day maintenance, cleanup, and walk-around inspection to ensure mechanical and physical condition of the equipment meets requirements.
• Adhere to and enforce paving safety rules and regulations.
• Other job duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand, sit, and kneel for long periods of time.
• Position may require frequent walking throughout the jobsite.
• Working at heights will vary, as well as working with various pieces of equipment that will provide protection at such heights, scaffolds, aerial man lifts, and personal fall protection.
• Be physically capable to perform all Paving Operator duties.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.

Requirements:

• High school or equivalent, technical school or college experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record, and have dependable transportation.
• Must be willing to travel to all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary)
• Pass a drug screen prior to employment and maintain a drug-free status.
• Excellent communication, organization, and people skills, with proven success working in team environments.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision.

Pay: Commensurate with experience including prevailing wages as required

Schedule:

• Day shift, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the possibility of working outside of normal hours work depending on project needs
• Monday to Friday
