Big Sandy Area Community Action Program is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Finance Officer to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports – monitoring expenses to ensure alignment with budgets.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work with program staff to align spending with budget constraints and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Oversee purchasing operations of the organization by placing order, negotiating, and ensuring cost-efficiency while meeting regulatory requirements.
- Support compliance with financial, organizational, and regulatory requirements, including assisting with audits and providing documentation as requested.
- Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure ethical and transparent financial management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required
- Prior experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role, ideally within a nonprofit or community-focused organization.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Proficiency in financial software
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
