DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides direct radiologic and ultrasound procedures to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.
- Responsible for assisting with and coordinating patient care by using x-ray/ultrasound knowledge and skills through a team-based approach.
- Participates in BSHC’s continuous quality improvement initiative by working to improve processes and patient care.
- Accurately and systematically records patient related data in the Electronic Health Record.
- Assists with the collection and tracking of electronic patient data.
- Adheres to the terms and conditions set forth in BSHC’s corporate compliance program.
- Ensures confidential information in accordance with BSHC’s policy and current HIPAA regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Current licensure in Kentucky as a licensed Radiology Technologist.
- Radiology Technology Certification.
- Experience as Radiology Technologist. Preferred Ultrasound experience.
- Demonstrates a high level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Possesses general computer knowledge.
- Ability to provide appropriate care to a diverse patient age mix including newborns, pediatrics, adolescence, adult and geriatrics.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Radiology units are well lit and ventilated with the observance of safety standards for R.T. safety.
- Requires a high level of mental and physical exertion. At times must perform under pressure and emergency conditions.
- Potential exists for exposure to hazardous risks including infectious diseases, hazardous substances, and musculoskeletal injuries.
- Moderate amounts of walking, standing, lifting of patients, equipment and supplies.
