What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Big Sandy Lodge and Resort?
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for set-up, mixing of drinks, service and cleanup of bar area while providing quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of company standards and profit maximization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Make and serve drinks to guests and for servers to provide guests following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards.
Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner, maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
Ring guest checks: collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures.
Complete liquor requisitions and supply lists.
Know and comply with state liquor laws.
Ensure established pars are maintained.
Perform all side work duties according to side work schedules.
May need to support the servers with table service at times.
Hours - scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Will be required to work nights, holidays, and weekends
Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
You must be 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in bartending
Prior hotel/restaurant experience preferred.
Basic food/beverage knowledge.
Computer/POS system skills required.
Professional appearance and demeanor - service oriented.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage time and work well under pressure.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
Must have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customers and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Must be able to complete all job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
May have to go into cooler for garnishes and other items.
Endure various physical movements; Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Must be able to stand and exert well placed mobility for up to/over 8 hours.
Must be able to kneel, squat, bend, stoop, and twist to perform job duties.
Incumbents may use POS system, telephone, and various food and beverage appliances in the course of a normal workday.
