The Mechanical / Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for creating and managing
engineering projects, drawings and bill of materials to meet project specifications and
industry standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Review customer specifications to understand project requirements.
Make / revise cost calculation sheet for Change Orders.
Create project submittals, including drawings and bill of materials.
Ensure project submittals are accurate and timely.
Support Procurement and Quality with supplier selection.
Provide efficient and effective design solutions for Production.
Support other departments as needed.
Define, measure, and improve process quality and efficiency.
Support continuous improvement and cost efforts.
Ensure assigned projects come in or under planned budget.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Proficient with Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, Inventor.
Manages and organizes multiple projects, priorities, and communications.
Communicates professionally and effectively (written, verbal, and presentation).
Establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external partners.
Knowledge of key trends related to IEEE, Transmission & Distribution and Design
Strong understanding of manufacturing and cost drivers.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering
2-5 years’ progressive experience in a manufacturing / sales environment
