Volunteer Coordinator

Job Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and enhancing our volunteer program. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers to ensure they are effectively engaged and supported in their roles. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for community service, enabling them to foster a positive environment for volunteers while promoting the organization's mission.

Duties

• Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract diverse candidates.
• Conduct training sessions to prepare volunteers for their roles and responsibilities.
• Manage the scheduling and coordination of volunteer activities, ensuring proper coverage for events.
• Utilize platforms such as Raiser Edge and Salesforce for tracking volunteer engagement and managing records.
• Oversee the performance of volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Engage in public speaking opportunities to promote the volunteer program within the community.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities.
• Leverage social media management skills to enhance outreach efforts and promote volunteer initiatives.
• Foster a sense of community among volunteers through regular communication and recognition programs.

Experience

• Proven experience in volunteer management or related fields is preferred.
• Strong public speaking abilities to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
• Experience in training development to create engaging training materials for volunteers.
• Familiarity with campus recruitment strategies to attract student volunteers is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in supervising teams or groups.
• Background in recruiting individuals for various roles within an organization is desirable.
• A passion for community service and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all volunteers.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 12 per week
