Facilities Maintenance Technician- Big Sky Medical Center (PT- 0.5 FTE, Variable Shift)

Position Summary: 

The Facilities Maintenance Technician provides the daily mechanical operations of the hospital, medical office buildings, physical plant and grounds. They are also responsible for security during dayshift hours by locking and unlocking of buildings, security systems, and responding to Code Gray pages.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• One (1) year technical trade school or equivalent training in electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC or Carpentry
• Montana Licensure (Boiler) required within 14 months of hire

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

• Performs repairs and/ or trouble-shoots equipment and/or facility problems
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment or systems on a scheduled basis
• Performs daily rounds through areas of responsibility and make repairs as required
• Consults with customer departments on equipment replacement, facility renovations and/or interior improvement
• Works with vendors or contractors to coordinate necessary facility repairs or renovations
• Documentation of completed work orders

Schedule Requirements

• This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
• The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
• On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
