Overview :
The Whitewater Inn Hotel Manager is your opportunity to join a great hospitality team. The Whitewater Inn operates as a hotel in the summer months and as team member housing in the winter months. Thus, this position is responsible for managing daily hotel operations, hiring and training a front desk and housekeeping team, and managing inventory for hotel operating supplies. In addition, this position will maintain employee schedules, manage labor hours and piecework, and directs guest interaction / problem resolution. It will continue to foster a service and team-oriented culture of respect, dedication, safety, and hard work. This includes supporting the Lodging Management Team and working with all Resort departments to ensure a consistent and positive experience for all guests and team members.
Candidate must be detail oriented, professional, and maintain a drive for excellence and consistently strong performance. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel required. Previous knowledge of Springer Miller Systems (SMS) is helpful. Successful candidates will meet all these requirements. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for overseeing daily hotel operations and operational planning.
- Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training front line staff through pre-season and ongoing training sessions.
- Responsible for monitoring housekeepers and support personnel performance, progress, and quality of daily assignments.
- Manage labor hours and hotel expenses
- Create Front Desk Schedules weekly and ensure all entries are accurate in our payroll system.
- Communicate all policies, procedures and service standards to staff and ensure compliance.
- Continue to foster a culture for the Whitewater Inn which highlights positivity, productivity, and professionalism
- Create strong communication lines between team members, guests, and the management team.
- Communicate frequently with lodging managers to set, assess, and discuss resort and lodging goals.
- Listen to and manage guest complaints and oversee service recovery and resolution
- Walk and inspect hotel public areas and guest rooms to ensure high standards are met
- Oversee the transition of the property from a hotel to team member housing in the Fall shoulder season
- Monitors the personal appearance of team members and enforces the Big Sky Employee Handbook polices and guidelines.
- Ensure that the work environment is safe for team members by providing access to safety materials and required personal protective equipment
- Discipline, praise and counsel team members as needed
- Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
- Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotel and management.
- Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long term strategic goals for the property.
- Responsible for following Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal requirements.
- Encourage and support all Lodging Department team members
- Work shifts within Lodging Department as needed
- Abide by and uphold Big Sky Resort and Boyne Resorts policies
