What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Clerk position at Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing Llc?
The Cash Application clerk is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization. Candidate should have strong bookkeeping skills and a general knowledge of accounting procedures as they relate to Accounts Receivable. Ability to multitask and work independently is a must.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Applies customer payments.
Researches and solves payment discrepancies.
Reconcile and make adjustments to customer accounts as needed.
Research and resolve bank reconciliation items.
GL reconciliation and resolution
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Incumbent will follow other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties from time to time if requested by department management
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS (Education, experience, certifications, proficiencies, etc.)
2-3 years experience in Accounts Receivable and/or general Bookkeeping
Intermediate computer skills
Strong data entry accuracy
10-key accuracy
Strong math skills
Good team work abilities
Good communication skills
Basic knowledge of accounting operations
Ability to read and interpret accounting policy /procedures manuals
Ability to calculate figures, amounts and work fractions, ratios and percentages
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES (specialized knowledge, computer skills)
Work allows for independence to decide what is to be done and when.
Confidential information is regularly used.
Requires independent effort with limited direct supervision; uses original thinking to develop, recommend or initiate policies and procedures.

To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to read, write understand and communicate by telephone using the English Language. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time). The employee is frequently required to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, telephone dialing, feeling objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required to this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
