What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Clerk position at Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing Llc?
A Scheduler/Production Clerk plans and establishes production schedules to meet internal and external customer demands and company objectives. They coordinate with all team members and to communicate status updates, and changes to the schedules. They also perform research and analytics to better understand the production process, customer needs, and resources and workforce available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prioritizes sales orders on the Master Production Schedule by the use of capacity planning tools in accordance with customer requirements and the Companys manufacturing plan guidelines.
- Demonstrates accountability for long-term planning of production requirements.
- Reviews production plan for appropriate action to take or rescheduling of all assembly orders when unable to release due to shortages.
- Works with the Sales Department to meet customer commitments and resolve order scheduling issues.
- Propose and get authorization for a recovery plan on delinquent orders when normal lead time is insufficient to meet customer needs. Makes use of business forecast with easy to access and transparent data.
- Quotes current normal lead time and build rate capability.
- Uses Six Sigma to drive process improvements, and support leads in analyzing data. Business partner with logistics team to ensure on-time delivery of products.
- Reports and monitors production forecast load and capacity.
- Drives robust scheduling discussions.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. The incumbent will follow other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties from time to time if requested by department management.
